Sony To Aggressively Pursue PS3 Pirates
Software pirates have been vigorously trying to conquer the PS3 seas with hackers constantly cracking the system. SCEA spokesperson Dave Karraker made it clear that Sony will not just sit around and let things be. He told GamesIndustry.Bz:
Quote:
"The best we can do as a company is to make our security that much stronger and aggressively pursue legal action against anyone caught trying to use an exploit in an illegal manner."
Previous reports by CVG.com said that hackers have already cracked both the PS3’s 1.10 and 1.11 firmware versions, therefore allowing illegal copies of games to boot on the system. However, even though the games boot, hackers are still unable to play any ‘homebrew’ software.
Sony’s PSP has already been a melting pot for hackers as they continue to successfully play homebrew games on the system.
Yo, Ho, Ho, Ho….
